NRMC was invited as a panellist during the 3rd National Rural Development Summit organised by CII

Mr. Jayesh Bhatia, Founding Director NRMC was invited for a panel discussion on “Assessing whether an innovation has strengthened livelihoods within the beneficiary community” during the 3rd National Rural Development Summit organised by CII in December 2011.

This session sensitised participants about the role that impact assessment plays in effective livelihoods interventions. As a result, they may design their own involvement in innovation with effective impact evaluation in mind.

The session discussed creative ways for reshaping and aligning economic (production, consumption & trade), environmental and social capital to act as multipliers for holistic development and national progress. It also provided an opportunity to debate how various metrics can be used to develop future inclusive innovation policies.

Completion of survey in Jharkhand and UP for NGP 2011

Government of India has been promoting sanitation coverage through Total sanitation Campaign (TSC) to ensure better health and quality of life for people in rural India. To add vigour to its implementation, Government of India has launched an incentive scheme called “Nirmal Gram Puruskar” (NGP) for fully sanitised and open defecation free Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) viz Gram Panchayats (GPs), Block Panchayats (BPs), districts and states . The Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Ministry of Rural Development has engaged NRMC for conducting surveys in Jharkhand and UP to ascertain the claim of achievements made by the PRIs
